★★★☆☆

This game is a text based game with ASCII graphics. The game is randomly generated each time so the mystery is different each time. There seem to be two different house layout as well as random generated murder weapons. You are required to “question” suspects, figure out with one doesn’t have a proper alibi, find the magnifying glass random placed in the house to examine other object for blood to discover the murder weapon, and finally discover the room the murder was committed in. Then you must “assemble” all of the suspects and “accuse” the correct suspect in order to win the game. In addition, if you take too long, the suspect will stalk you and might murder you before you can figure the entire mystery out.

Overall, the game was interesting and the randomness adds a bit of replayability to the game, but once you figure out how to solve the mystery, it becomes a matter of how few steps it take to solve. The randomness of the game will likely create some unwinnable situations as well. The manual was pretty much required in order to figure out what room that murder was committed in as well.

Graphics: 4/5

Story: 2/5

Puzzle/Gameplay: 3.5/5

Music/Sound: Not Rated

Personal Slant 3.5/5

Overall Rating: 3.25 / 5
