Heroine's Quest: The Herald of Ragnarok

A retro styled adventure/RPG hybrid with atmosphere reminiscent of the classics. Play as warrior, sorceress, or rogue as you travel through the rich world of Norse mythology to keep the world from eternal winter. Each class has different puzzle solutions, making for good replay value. The game is completely free, no hidden costs.

This game did Quest for Glory fans justice in the sense that it did a very good job of capturing the spirit of the original while making some tweaks to the formula to create a new experience. Unfortunately, I softlocked myself at the end of the game forcing myself to replay a decent portion of the game (I got softlocked in Quest for Glory II as well). The voice acting, music, and story was well done. The puzzles were reasonable. I played as a rogue with magic and had fun.
